Terms & Conditions
Last updated: July 27, 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MuslimOwned.net and the MuslimOwned mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Services"). MuslimOwned is a platform that helps community members discover and connect with local businesses, organizations, events, jobs, and community updates. By accessing or using the Services, creating an account, submitting content, or purchasing a plan, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility and authority
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms to create an account, register a business or organization, submit content, or purchase a plan. If you use the Services for a business, masjid, school, nonprofit, or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Services complies with applicable law.
2. Accounts and security
You agree to provide accurate, current information and keep it updated. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping login and verification information secure. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. We may require verification before allowing access to an account or changing account information.
3. Listings and user content
You retain ownership of business details, photos, events, jobs, articles, promotions, and other content you submit ("User Content"). You grant MuslimOwned a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, distribute, and promote your User Content as needed to operate, improve, and market the Services. This license ends when the content is deleted from our active systems, except for reasonable backups, legal records, and content shared elsewhere before deletion.
You confirm that you own or have permission to use your User Content and that it is accurate, lawful, and does not violate another person’s rights. We may edit the presentation of a listing for formatting and clarity, but you remain responsible for its substance.
User Content may be visible on the website and mobile app, shared by users, and indexed by search engines. Do not submit private information or content that you do not want made public.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the Services to:
- submit false, misleading, fraudulent, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or unlawful content;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent an affiliation, ownership, certification, or endorsement;
- infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- send spam, distribute malware, probe security, bypass access controls, or disrupt the Services;
- scrape, harvest, copy, or commercially exploit data from the Services except with our written permission; or
- use the Services in a way that harms users, listed organizations, MuslimOwned, or the community.
Report objectionable, abusive, infringing, or unsafe content to support@muslimowned.net. Include a description of the content and where it appears. We may investigate and take action, including removing content or restricting an account.
5. Directory role and transactions with third parties
MuslimOwned helps users discover businesses, organizations, events, jobs, and community information. Unless expressly stated otherwise, MuslimOwned does not own, operate, endorse, certify, or control listed organizations and is not a party to transactions between users and third parties. You are responsible for evaluating listings, opportunities, products, services, donations, and external links before acting on them.
6. Subscriptions and payment
Some features require a paid subscription. Prices, features, billing intervals, trial terms, renewal terms, and any cancellation or refund terms shown at checkout form part of these Terms. Website payments are processed by Stripe and may also be subject to Stripe’s terms. You authorize the applicable charges when you complete checkout. You are responsible for taxes and valid billing information. Subscription management options may be available through the billing portal.
If the mobile app offers an in-app purchase or subscription, payment, renewal, cancellation, and refund requests are also governed by the rules of the app marketplace that processed the purchase. Deleting an account does not automatically cancel an app marketplace subscription. You must cancel it through the applicable marketplace account settings.
We may change plans or pricing prospectively. If a change affects an existing paid subscription, we will provide notice when required and apply the change no earlier than the next applicable renewal unless you agree otherwise.
7. Intellectual property
Other than User Content, the Services, including their software, design, branding, logos, text, graphics, and organization, are owned by or licensed to MuslimOwned and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Services for their intended purpose. No other rights are granted.
8. Moderation, suspension, and termination
We may review, refuse, remove, restrict, or correct content that violates these Terms, creates risk, or is unsuitable for the Services. We may suspend or terminate access for violations, fraud, security concerns, nonpayment, legal requirements, or material harm to the Services or others. You may stop using the Services at any time, but ending use does not automatically cancel amounts already due or a subscription managed through a separate billing flow.
9. Account deletion
Mobile app users may initiate deletion of their profile from the account settings in the app. Business account owners may request account and listing deletion by contacting support@muslimowned.net. Deletion is permanent after any confirmation or identity-verification steps are completed. We will delete associated personal information and User Content from active systems unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or financial-record purposes. See the Privacy Policy for more information.
10. Mobile application
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the MuslimOwned mobile application on devices you own or control for personal use of the Services. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the application’s source code except to the extent a restriction is prohibited by law. Your download and use of the application are also subject to the applicable app marketplace’s usage rules and standard end user license terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms, including wireless-data and app marketplace terms, when using the application.
11. Third-party services
The Services may use or link to third-party services, including payment processors, map providers, and external websites. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services. Your use of them may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” MuslimOwned disclaims all express and implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and reliability. We do not guarantee that listings are complete or accurate, that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that using the Services will produce any particular business or community outcome.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MuslimOwned and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from the Services. Our total liability for claims relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid MuslimOwned during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MuslimOwned and its owners, officers, employees, and contractors from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights.
15. Changes to the Services or Terms
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We may also update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms and revise the date above, and will provide additional notice when required. Continued use after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction in Oregon, unless applicable consumer law requires another forum. You and MuslimOwned consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
17. General terms
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and MuslimOwned about the Services, except for additional terms presented for a specific feature or purchase. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a business transfer or reorganization. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
